RYA Marine Radio SRC - Online

The RYA Marine Radio Short Range Certificate course is ideal for anyone who owns or operates a fixed or handheld marine VHF radio.

It is also the minimum qualification required by law to control the operation of VHF and VHF Digital Selective Calling (DSC) equipment on any British flagged vessel voluntarily fitted with a radio either fixed or hand held.

The course will cover the basics of radio operation, frequencies, distress, emergency and medical assistance procedures, making ship to shore telephone calls, Digital Selective Calling, Global Maritime Distress Safety System and more.

The online course allows you to complete all the necessary learning at your own pace. This will take approximately 10 hours in total.

Once completed, an in-person exam can be arranged at a time and location of your choosing.
